Doylestown is about to get a new vantage point, and a cold drink to go with it, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.
The borough’s first rooftop bar and lounge is set to open June 19 at Main Street Marketplace, perched atop the downtown destination that has quietly become one of Bucks County’s most ambitious entertainment venues.
The new space, an expansion of the marketplace’s Main Street Sport & Social, will span 2,700 square feet and offer sweeping southern views.
On the clearest days, guests can catch a glimpse of the Philadelphia skyline, around 28 miles to the south.
The space has been designed with year-round socializing in mind. Cabanas, fire pits, heaters, fans, and televisions create a setup meant to keep guests comfortable, whether it’s a crisp October evening or a warm July night.
For owner Will Wister, a Doylestown native and Central Bucks West graduate, the rooftop is more than a business venture.
“We’re very excited to welcome everyone to come and experience the rooftop for themselves,” Wister said. “We think it’s going to become one of the most unique social destinations in the area.”
The bar will pour exclusively Pennsylvania-made wine, beer, and spirits, leaning into a sense of local pride that extends to the food menu.
Partnering with Villa Capri and The Side Bar, the venue aims to offer a full night out without ever leaving the rooftop.
The June 19th opening marks the latest chapter in the rapid evolution of Main Street Sport & Social, which has steadily transformed the marketplace into an entertainment hub with golf simulators, duckpin bowling, mini-golf, and a third-floor bar already drawing crowds.
