After six decades of operation, the Candlewyck Pub and Restaurant, a staple of Buckingham Township, has closed its doors for good, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.
The restaurant shut down in mid-December to resolve issues that were found during a Bucks County Health Department inspection.
After the initial closure, a sign on the door informed visitors “The Wyck” was closed for renovations, and they could purchase takeout beer from the shop next door.
The sign has since disappeared, the restaurant’s Facebook page remains inactive, and calls to the pub haven’t connected.
Following the December inspection, the owners requested permission to sell beer from their Q-Wyck Stop Sandwich Shop & Beer Store. The health department approved, under the condition that they only sell prepackaged non-refrigerated items and enclosed beverages.
The takeout store shut down earlier this year after just a few weeks of operation, and no further inspection updates have been provided by the health department.
In July 2024, new owners stepped in to manage the operation of the Candlewyck, which was rebranded to “The Wyck.” The menu was updated and became known for its wings, burgers, handhelds, and pizza.
The space has been leased to a new tenant, who reportedly has a project in mind for the site.
