Popular Flemington, N.J., ice cream shop Humdoo Ice Cream is opening its second location in Buckingham at the site of the former Candlewyck Pub and Restaurant, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.
“This is beyond exciting,” said founder Gabriella Truppi. “This has been in the works for two years. I looked at so many locations. I’ve come close on many of them. So to be able to announce it, it feels so unreal.”
Truppi opened her New Jersey ice cream shop five years ago and plans to bring all the store’s favorite flavors to the new location. Along with offering 24 hand-scooped flavors, Humdoo also serves milkshakes, ice cream cakes, and fizzies.
The store offers a variety of fruity and chocolatey options, but steers clear of any peanut and tree-nut flavors in honor of Truppi’s sisters.
“Growing up, it was upsetting watching my sister be left out, so when I opened my business, I wanted to make sure it was something my sister could enjoy as well,” said Truppi.
The shop’s name was similarly inspired by her sister, who grew up calling ice cream “humdoo.”
As Humdoo is peanut- and tree-nut-free, they’ve come up with some unique flavors for their menu, like lemon bar, blueberry waffle, banana pudding, and more.
Truppi hopes to open the new location in mid-to-late summer.
