Starting with the 2026-27 school year, Philadelphia parents will be able to track their kids’ school buses as they travel to and from school, writes Cherise Lynch for NBC10 Philadelphia.
This reality is thanks to a new partnership between the School District of Philadelphia and Zūm to make its student mobility operations more modern.
The new air-conditioned, state-of-the-art buses will have advanced safety technology that allows parents to see when the buses will arrive, as well as when their children get on and off.
There will also be a new app that parents and guardians can download for this very purpose.
“We are privileged to partner with The School District of Philadelphia to set a new standard for reliable and efficient transportation across the district,” said Ritu Narayan, Founder and CEO of Zūm. “Through Zūm’s advanced technology and operational expertise, families in Philadelphia will have peace of mind knowing every student has a dependable ride to school. We look forward to serving this welcoming and diverse school community and building our team in Philadelphia.”
Zūm will cover at least 200 routes and 330 schools in the Philadelphia School District.
Meanwhile, the company operates across more than 4,500 schools in 17 states.
