Levittown has been ranked one of the best places to move in Pennsylvania, coming in at No. 3 on a list of 20 communities evaluated by ConsumerAffairs, as reported by JD Mullane for Bucks County Courier Times.
The company assessed Pennsylvania’s largest communities across five categories: affordability, safety, economic strength, healthcare and education, and quality of life.
ConsumerAffairs also factored in an emotional analysis of consumer reviews to gauge how residents actually feel about living there.
“Low crime and a strong economy make this large Philadelphia suburb an appealing option for prospective movers,” ConsumerAffairs said of Levittown.
The numbers back that up. Levittown has the third-lowest violent crime rate in the state at 1.1 crimes per 1,000 residents.
Economically, it ranks second overall, posting a 4.1% job growth rate and the fourth-lowest poverty rate in Pennsylvania at 7.2% of the population.
On education, approximately 93% of residents hold a high school diploma, the eighth-highest rate in the state.
For healthcare, Levittown ranks sixth statewide with 30.3 healthcare professionals per 1,000 residents.
Affordability remains a draw, particularly for buyers priced out of other Northeast suburbs.
Levittown’s location gives residents access to employment centers in Philadelphia, Princeton, and Trenton, with I-95, SEPTA Regional Rail, and the Pennsylvania Turnpike all within reach.
Topping the ConsumerAffairs list was Bethel Park, outside Pittsburgh. Drexel Hill in Delaware County ranked second. Altoona and Plum rounded out the top five.
