A new senior living community is taking shape near New Hope, and it’s not your grandfather’s retirement home.
Heritage Senior Living, the Blue Bell-based operator behind several communities across Pennsylvania, is moving forward with plans for a 20.5-acre development in Bucks County that promises to redefine what senior living looks like in the region, writes Ryan Mulligan for The Philadelphia Business Journal.
The proposed community, situated near the recently opened Birches at New Hope along Lower York Road, would bring 160 residential units to the area, spanning apartments, luxury flats, and cottages.
The amenity list reads more like a resort brochure than a care facility: a pub, indoor pool, pickleball courts, and a community garden, among other offerings.
The location puts future residents within easy reach of downtown New Hope and the communities lining the Delaware River, with the Logan Square Shopping Center nearby for everyday conveniences.
Heritage Senior Living already operates facilities in Newtown, Harleysville, Easton, Lansdale, and York, and the New Hope project signals the company isn’t slowing down.
The expansion comes as Pennsylvania’s aging population continues to drive demand for senior housing that blends residential comfort with long-term care under one roof.
Bucks County has become an increasingly attractive target for that kind of investment, with developers zeroing in on communities that offer both lifestyle amenities and care services as the region’s demographics shift.
