Beth Rubin, owner of The Caketeria on Washington Avenue in Newtown, is transferring ownership to a longtime team member after 13 years of leadership, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.
“After 13 wonderful years, The Caketeria is entering a new chapter. I am delighted to announce a transition in ownership that marks both continuity and innovation for the bakery,” said Rubin in a Facebook post.
The new owner, Liliya Los, has been a member of the bakery’s team for the last five years and is bringing years of experience in baking and decorating to her new role.
Rubin took over the bakery, which at the time was Felix’s Caketeria, from Felix Papadakis in 2013. With 25 years of experience as a pastry chef, she previously worked for Annie B’s and Felix’s for 12 years.
“I sincerely appreciate your support since 2013,” Rubin said. “As The Caketeria embarks on this new journey, the bakery is eager to welcome you, and continue providing the exceptional treats you’ve come to love. As I move on to spending more time with my grandchildren, I would like to say thank you!”
The bakery sells a variety of cakes for every event, from birthdays and weddings to bar mitzvahs, as well as cupcakes and other small treats.
