Your Next Great Read Awaits at One of These Bucks County Bookstores

For book lovers in Bucks County, there is no shortage of cozy, independent bookstores to explore, with literature from every genre.

There’s nothing quite like a good book! You can venture to far-off places (real or fictional) and experience incredible adventures from your couch. Luckily, there’s no shortage of independent bookstores in Bucks County where your next adventure can be found. 

Newtown Bookshop, located at 2120 South Eagle Rd, is filled with books for everyone. Customers can peruse their wide selection of titles with everything from memoirs and cookbooks to graphic novels and thrillers. They also host a variety of fun events you won’t want to miss, like their book club gatherings and author meet-and-greets.  

Located at 129 Mill St. in Bristol, Bristol Books & Bindery is a beautiful spot that’s worth a visit. Visitors can check out their range of books, including biographies, literary classics, field guidebooks, fiction, sci-fi and more. If you have a book in need of repair, the bindery has you covered and will work to restore it as best as they can. 

Yardley’s Commonplace Reader is another great spot for those looking to check off books on their “To Be Read” list. The shop is located at 49 South Main St. and was recognized by Philadelphia Magazine in their 2023 “Best of Philly” list. Along with their diverse collection of books, the store also hosts a variety of book clubs covering everything from romance novels to horror.  

Farley’s Bookshop has been providing literature to New Hope residents since 1967. This store, located at 44 S Main St., is a spot bursting with books and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re looking for fiction or nonfiction, self-help books or gardening tips, there’s something for every reader at this beloved shop.  

Those looking to get some books for low prices can check out Heisenbooks in Fairless Hills. This spot, located at 225 Lincoln Hwy, is housed in a large warehouse and contains stacks upon stacks of books across every genre. Along with purchasing new books, such as works by Agatha Christie or titles from the Nancy Drew series, customers can also bring old books they’d like to sell.
