The beloved southern chicken franchise Zaxbys is opening its very first location in Pennsylvania this spring at the former Crossroads Tavern in Tullytown Borough, writes Dino Ciliberti for Patch.
The fast-casual franchise is best known for its hand-breaded chicken fingers and wings, fried shrimp platters, salads, and sandwich meals.
Its special sauces, including its signature Zax Sauce, are another crowd favorite, along with its crinkle-cut fries, chicken sandwiches, and Texas toast.
Zaxbys was founded in 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia, and has become known for its “Southern hospitality.” There are currently over 950 locations nationwide.
Prior to this location, the only Zaxbys in the Philadelphia region was in Magnolia, New Jersey.
The new Tullytown location is the first in a major expansion, with over 10 anticipated openings planned for Lehigh Valley, the Philadelphia region, and western Pennsylvania.
“Zaxbys founders Zach McLeroy and Tony Townley decided to roll the dice on a new kind of restaurant. Chicken fingers… as a main course. It was bold. It was original. And it was the beginning of something that would change countless lives over the next three decades,” states the website.
