CenterSquare Investment Management is pushing into neighborhood retail with the purchase of a Warrington shopping center, writes Paul Schwedelson for The Philadelphia Business Journal.
The Conshohocken company acquired the Valley Gate shopping center for $15.5 million, according to industry sources. The 32,200-square-foot property sits along Easton Road near Route 611, about four miles north of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, placing it in a high-traffic commercial corridor.
Built in 2015, the center is home to a lineup of nationally recognized tenants including Sport Clips, T-Mobile, Visionworks, Crumbl Cookies, and Buffalo Wild Wings. The development features two buildings positioned on either side of Metro Drive and serves as a convenient retail hub for the surrounding residential community.
The Warrington deal also continues a rapid acquisition streak for the Montgomery County firm. CenterSquare previously announced plans to acquire 30 to 40 retail properties within two years, with more than $300 million earmarked for shopping center investments.
The company currently owns 58 retail properties across 21 markets, representing about 1.9 million square feet of space nationwide.
