The historic stone houses around the county are definitely worth a visit, with many dating back to the 1700s. Several of them have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Visit historic homes, including the John Chapman House, John Lacey Homestead, Liberty Hall Quakertown, and the Penn-Walton Homestead.
The scenic 40-mile River Road features fantastic views of the countryside and the Delaware River running from Bristol to Lumberville.
Riverside dining, cute boutiques, cozy historic inns, and outdoor opportunities await along the way. Have a picnic at Tinicum Park, canoe and tube down the river, or take a hike at Ringing Rocks Park.
The county’s covered bridges are a must-see, and the remaining 12 in the area can be seen on your own self-guided tour. The bridges in Tyler State Park and Lenape Park are the perfect spots to grab some close-up photos.
