$8M Bristol Township Senior Center Opens With Fanfare Celebration

Bristol Township officials cut the ribbon, celebrating the opening of Bristol Township’s new senior center.

With hot dogs, popcorn, circus peanuts, and a packed house, Bristol Township celebrated the grand opening of its $8 million senior citizen center, writes JD Mullane for the Bucks County Courier Times.

“This beautiful new center is more than just a building,” said Bonnie Worth, the center’s executive director. “It’s a promise. A promise to continue providing nutritious meals to both our homebound and our guests.”

The building features two pool tables, an exercise room, a professional-grade kitchen, a nurse’s clinic, and seminar rooms where seniors can learn about new technology or stay informed about scams targeting older adults.

Most of the center’s required financing was provided by grants, with the rest obtained through the offices of Bucks County Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, state Sen. Steve Santarsiero, and state Rep. Tina Davis.

Council President Craig Bowen said that the project came to fruition thanks to local politicians collaborating with the council to get it completed.

“This is what happens when Republicans and Democrats work together for the people,” he said.

The new center is close to the old facility, which is set to be transformed into a firehouse garage.
