King of Prussia-based David’s Bridal took center stage in New York City this Valentine’s Day, highlighting flexible payment options for couples planning their big day, according to PYMNTS.
The wedding retailer partnered with digital payments platform Sezzle to sponsor the annual Love in Times Square event, where weddings, vow renewals and proposals unfolded in the heart of Manhattan. During the celebration, David’s Bridal offered gown giveaways, photo activations, and gift bags. CEO Kelly Cook even officiated one of the ceremonies.
The partnership underscores a broader strategy aimed at easing the financial pressures facing engaged couples. In November, David’s Bridal rolled out Sezzle’s buy now, pay later (BNPL) option across its more than 190 stores and online platform. Shoppers can pay in full at checkout or split purchases into four interest-free installments over six weeks.
Company leaders say the move reflects changing consumer habits, as installment payments increasingly become part of everyday budgeting. Industry research shows BNPL services are no longer reserved for big-ticket splurges but are now woven into monthly financial planning.
For shoppers, that means more flexibility when saying “yes” to the dress, and potentially less stress while planning for the big day.
