Nick Cearley, frontman of the popular New York scantily clad performance group, The Skivvies, will help inaugurate the new performance space at Bucks County Playhouse, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.

Cearley, who is also the star of the Playhouse’s productions of “Buyer and Cellar” and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show“, will make his local solo cabaret performance debut in the Playhouse Barn on February 24 and 25.

He will appear on stage as part of the Playhouse’s new cabaret series in the show “I Didn’t Recognize You With Clothes On!”, Bucks County’s own Jenny Lee Stern will join him as a special guest.

The Playhouse Barn sits directly in front of the main theater and is one of New Hope’s oldest stone structures. Recent renovations turned the building into an intimate performance space hosting events such as the new cabaret series.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nick to launch this new series of intimate performances,” said Producing Director Alexander Fraser.

“Cabaret has long been a passion of mine, and Playhouse Barn is a space where we look to reignite New Hope’s cabaret tradition with performances by some of Broadway’s brightest artists.”
