Langhorne Square Shopping Center's popular Wendy's closed for good on Dec. 31, ending its presence at the shopping center.

The popular Wendy’s at Langhorne Square Shopping Center in closed for good on Dec. 31, writes JD Mullane for the Bucks County Courier Times.

The company did not provide a reason for the closure.

Wendy’s originally opened at Langhorne Square around 25 years ago.

The chain closed about 140 underperforming stores in 2025 and is expected to close several hundred more this year, though an exact number was not given.

During an investor call in November, Wendy’s CEO Ken Cook said that the company would close a “mid single-digit percentage” of its locations.

“When we look at the system today, we have some restaurants that do not elevate the brand and are a drag from a franchisee financial performance perspective,” said Cook. “The goal is to address and fix those restaurants.”

Wendy’s has faced challenges with sales compared to some competitors, reporting a 4.7 percent drop in same-store sales and a 2.6 percent decline in global systemwide sales during the 2025 third fiscal quarter.

Following the closure, eight Wendy’s locations still remain in Bucks County, including Bensalem, Bristol, Levittown, Doylestown, Morrisville, Newtown, Warminster, and Warrington.
