Sprig & Vine, New Hope Vegan Staple for 15 Years, Closing Its Doors

New Hope's Sprig & Vine, a vegan restaurant that has been a community staple for 15 years, will permanently close its doors on Oct. 19.

Sprig & Vine, a vegan restaurant in New Hope that has been a community staple for 15 years, will permanently close its doors on Oct. 19, writes Mia Johnson for the New Hope Free Press.

Chef and owner Ross Olchvary wrote in an Instagram message that the Union Square eatery is closing because it is “no longer financially viable to continue.”

“We reached that point a while ago but pushed on because we passionately believed in our vision,” he wrote. “Your love kept us here but we could only go so far before the financial toll forced the painful decision to say goodbye.”

Since March 2010, Sprig & Vine has served almost half a million vegan meals, according to Olchvary.

The business has already launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $65,000 to help cover closing costs, bills, debt and final payroll, with $4,483 raised as of Tuesday.

Olchvary added that, depending on their staffing, there could be pop-ups or limited offerings in the future. He also encouraged patrons to use any gift cards they have before the closing date.
