Bob Evans family-style restaurant in Bensalem, which is best known for its delicious breakfasts, closed its doors for good last week, writes Dino Ciliberti for the Patch.

Bensalem residents respond to the closure on the Bensalem Proud Facebook community page with mixed reactions.

“I was just there for breakfast with my mom,” said one commenter.

“We went there to have dinner last week, I think it was Thursday or Friday,” said Pat Ridgeway. “It was locked and there were people in the back loading equipment onto a truck.”

While some residents said they loved the restaurant’s sausage gravy and biscuits as well as the other breakfast options, others believe that the eatery may have closed because its offerings fell out of favor with customers.

Another option that was mentioned is a possible rent issue with the restaurant’s landlord.

Bob Evans Restaurants is a Columbus, Ohio-based chain of family-style restaurants that owns and operates almost 500 locations in 18 states.

The company has nearby locations in Lancaster, as well as in Mount Laurel, N.J., and several in Delaware.
