Main Line Health has rebranded Riddle Emergency Medical Services at Riddle Hospital in Media as Main Line Health EMS.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, Jan. 14, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, writes Sarah Gantz for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The seven ambulances that make up Riddle EMS employ 77 paramedics and EMTs. They have been providing emergency response services for Main Line’s four-hospital system—Riddle, Bryn Mawr, Lankenau, and Paoli– for 40 years.
The fleet will still provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) services, writes James Martolle for Criminal Watch.
The rebranding lines up more with its system-wide mission, and “strengthens the team’s ability to meet the expanding needs of the community, while preserving the trusted service delivered for decades,” according to a statement from Main Line.
Main Line Health hospitals have been burdened since the closing of Crozer Health, which had Delaware County’s largest emergency department and highest-level trauma center.
For those who relied on Crozer Health hospitals, Riddle and Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby are the next closest hospitals.
Riddle Hospital was originally an independent community hospital before it joined the Main Line Health system in 2007. Read more about the rebranding of Riddle Hospital’s EMS in The Philadelphia Inquirer.
