The start of a new year is the perfect time to pause and reflect on what lies ahead — and who will help shape it. In Chester County, VISTA Today is ensuring that reflection takes a very public form.
Through its VISTA NextGen Superstars program, VISTA Today is spotlighting for the seventh consecutive year the young professionals whose work, leadership, and commitment are quietly influencing the future of Chester County.
Nominations are still being accepted.
VISTA NextGen Superstars honors individuals under 40 who live, work, or study in Chester County and are making a meaningful impact, both professionally and in the community. While the program is rooted locally, its reach extends far beyond county lines, as several past Superstars commute to work in Chester County from their homes in neighboring counties.
VISTA Today is looking for people who combine career achievement with a sense of responsibility to the places and people around them. Past honorees have included entrepreneurs launching new ventures, educators mentoring the next generation, healthcare professionals innovating in patient care, nonprofit leaders expanding access to services, and rising corporate leaders balancing growth with community engagement.
What makes VISTA NextGen Superstars stand out is its emphasis on trajectory. Nominees don’t need decades of accolades behind them; instead, they are often people early enough in their careers to still be defining their leadership style, but far enough along to show real results. Many are the kind of professionals others rely on quietly: the colleague who builds consensus, the manager who mentors generously, the volunteer who shows up consistently.
Anyone — a supervisor, coworker, client, friend, or even themselves — can submit a nomination. Eligible candidates must be 39 or younger as of April 30. The nomination window runs through Jan. 23, with honorees announced beginning February 10. Starting March 2, VISTA Today will publish individual feature profiles highlighting each Superstar’s work, background, and vision for the future.
VISTA NextGen Superstars culminates in the annual Awards Reception & Celebration on April 30 at Penn State Great Valley. Beyond celebration, the event serves a larger purpose, with a portion of the proceeds supporting Chester County OIC, a Coatesville-based nonprofit focused on adult education, workforce development, and economic opportunity.
For readers outside Chester County, the call is simple: if you know someone whose work is rooted there — or whose influence reaches there — this is an opportunity to help their story travel further.
Sponsors are still being sought for this year’s program. Learn more about how your organization can partner with VISTA Today to celebrate excellence, leadership, and community impact across Chester County.
