Maddy Rose Mediterranean Restaurant Coming to New Hope’s Former Landing Site

Maddy Rose, a Mediterranean restaurant, is set to replace The Landing in New Hope, a former staple that was open for almost 50 years.

Hospitality group By Landmark is set to open Maddy Rose, a Mediterranean restaurant, at the site of The Landing, a former New Hope staple, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

After purchasing the site in early 2021, By Landmark shut down the seasonal restaurant in late 2024, ending a nearly 50-year run in New Hope.

The company, once known as Landmark Developers, originally proposed a boutique hotel and restaurant spanning the property with an adjacent parcel.

Maddy Rose at The Landing will open to walk-ins on Jan. 28, with reservations available starting Feb. 4.

The restaurant will seat roughly 215 guests and offer a shareable menu featuring a raw bar, a seafood tower, and dishes like prime rib and steak frites.

The new restaurant will be By Landmark’s second Maddy Rose location.

According to Frank Cretella, New Hope’s “intimacy” made it a natural fit for the restaurant’s expansion.

New Hope has always felt like an extension of home, and Maddy Rose is meant to feel the same way, like walking into someone’s house by the water, where people gather, linger, and lose track of time,” he said.
