Some hidden treasures were lit up by TV cameras during a recent visit by Fox 29’s Bob Kelly to a Delaware County icon in Gradyville, just outside Media Borough, off Route 352.
Hidden Treasures Antique Mall has just about everything you could imagine in its nine rooms.
“This is like a throwback in time, before Craigslist, before eBay,” Kelly said as he toured the rooms.
Co-owners Janis Tappenden and Missy Singley have been running the place for 15 years.
The hottest items? A lot of barware sells, the women said.
Salt and pepper shakers are also very hot.
Surprises await in every room, from candles to cookie jars, to China, to jewelry.
You may see a typewriter, or a guitar, a deed from the 1700s, Hot Wheels, old Barbie dolls, a pencil sharpener, a steering wheel mold for a yacht company, a Lone Ranger lunchbox, and a saddle.
Items change week to week.
The owners find items from people’s homes and from yard sales.
Different vendors also provide items for sale in the store.
Hidden Treasures is open every day except Mondays, with their biggest shopping days on Saturday and Sunday, 9 AM to 4 PM.
