Penndel Borough Police Officer Sean Peck is being celebrated as a hero after saving eight people from a house fire on Woodland Avenue in Penndel this past Thursday, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.
Officer Peck witnessed the fire around 4:40 AM and quickly moved to assist the residents.
“Recognizing the imminent danger to the occupants, Officer Peck entered the home despite the fire and heavy smoke conditions,” said the department on Facebook. “His swift and courageous efforts led to the successful evacuation of eight individuals.”
Peck was praised by Penndel Borough Police Chief Sean Perry for his bravery and quick response.
U.S. Representative Brian Fitzpatrick also commended Peck for his actions and extended his gratitude to the Penndel Volunteer Fire Company.
“Penndel Borough Police Officer Sean Peck acted without hesitation, charging into a burning home through heavy smoke to bring eight of our neighbors to safety. His swift, selfless action prevented what could have been an unthinkable tragedy, and our community is profoundly grateful,” Fitzpatrick said.
Officer Peck is a Newtown native who attended Council Rock North High School and joined the U.S. Army after graduation.
