Bucks County is Home to a Horse Head Statue, A Pianist’s Heart and More

For those who appreciate the strange and weird, there are plenty of odd spots around Bucks County, each with its own special stories.

Bucks County is a great place to live, with beautiful scenery and lively towns, but there are plenty of oddities and strange spots with their own unique stories, writes JD Mullane for the Bucks County Courier Times

Locals in Lower Makefield caught sightings of a wolf-like animal in the early 2000s that was larger than a fox and too strange-looking to be a dog.

Named the Yardley Yeti, it was spotted on highways, in backyards, and even in a supermarket parking lot in Warrington.

Those in Doylestown can visit the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa to see the spot where a Polish concert pianist’s heart resides behind a bust of his face.

Ignacy Jan Paderewski was a child music prodigy who performed around the world. He thought of America as his adopted homeland and wanted his heart to remain here after his death.

Bensalem’s Parx Casino is home to another strange sight, a 34-foot horse head statue. The sculpture was created by Nic Fiddian-Green and was initially on display at London’s Buckingham Palace.

Parx executives wanted the statue as a nod to their own horse racing track, and the “Horse at Water” now resides on the property.
