The Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center (PABC) in Doylestown has appointed Nick Spring, a seasoned life sciences executive, as its inaugural entrepreneur in residence, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
With a wealth of experience, Spring will provide crucial guidance to startups and early-stage companies in areas such as business strategy, fundraising, and product development.
Spring’s illustrious career includes executive roles at Merck, founding Topaz Pharmaceuticals, and leading Reliefband, a medical device company.
He has also been involved with Alten Calsoft and co-founded BioVeras, showcasing his diverse expertise in the life sciences sector.
At PABC, Spring will assist companies in identifying new investment opportunities and conducting due diligence on potential investments.
He will also support five spinout companies from the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute and advise 10 other companies funded by the center’s Academic Innovation Zone program.
Spring’s appointment highlights PABC’s commitment to fostering innovation and growth within Pennsylvania’s biotech ecosystem.
