These Golden Globe Nominees Have Ties to the Bucks County Area

The Golden Globes will be held on Jan. 11, and several nominated actors have Philly connections, including two who have ties to Bucks County.

The Golden Globes recently announced its list of nominees from some of the top movies and TV shows, and a few actors with connections to Bucks County made the list, writes Henry Savage for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The award show will be held on Jan. 11 and will cover 28 categories across a variety of genres.

This year, the Golden Globes is adding a best podcast category, and Alex Cooper, who grew up in Newtown, has been nominated for the award.

Her podcast, “Call Her Daddy,” discusses pop culture and taboo subjects related to womanhood. Cooper has had a variety of celebrities on the show, including Miley Cyrus, Kamala Harris, and Gwyneth Paltrow.

The podcast has become widely popular, and in 2021, Cooper signed a $60 million exclusive deal with Spotify.

Actress Hannah Einbinder isn’t from the area, but her father, Chad Einbinder, is a Doylestown native.

Einbinder was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the TV series “Hacks.” During her recent Emmy acceptance speech, the actress, a hardcore Eagles fan, shouted “Go Birds!”

Actors from shows like “Abbott Elementary,” “Task,” and “Long Bright River,” all of which are set in the Philly region, have also been nominated.
