Bucks County is a hub of history, culture, and the arts, with numerous attractions, museums, parks, and trails across its 600 square miles, writes Lacey Latch for the Bucks County Courier Times.
One of the most popular musical spots to visit is Doylestown’s Oscar Hammerstein Museum and Theatre Education Center. This historic site was the home of the famed lyricist who worked to craft songs for some of the most iconic musicals.
Parx Racetrack in Bensalem is one of three thoroughbred horse racing tracks in the Commonwealth. Dozens of races are held each month throughout the year.
The Quakertown Farmers Market is another great spot to explore. This busy market with over 100 vendors and three flea markets covers over 170,000 square feet and has been a staple of the county since 1932.
The market is open throughout the year on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 AM to 9 PM and Sundays from 10 AM to 5 PM.
Outdoor adventurers can check out Ringing Rocks Park in Upper Black Eddy, which also boasts the county’s largest waterfall.
History buffs can check out Summerseat in Morrisville, constructed in 1765, which served as the headquarters for George Washington in December 1776. Tours of the historic site can be enjoyed with General Washington himself.
