Backyard Buzz: Bucks County Success Story Born from Passion for Bees

Bucky County-based Backyard Buzz is a honey business owned by a mother and daughter born from their shared love for pollinators.

Backyard Buzz in Bucks County is a mother-daughter-owned honey business born out of their shared passion for pollinators, writes Leigh Green for PA Eats.

Nikki Zebrowski-Beck and Karen Zebrowski oversee every aspect of the artisanal honey business, bringing the focus and care necessary to understand and cater for their tiny teammates.

As a Cornell Certified Master Beekeeper and Certified Pollinator Steward, Zebrowski-Beck oversees the company’s online presence, while Zebrowski drives the creative side, designing hand-dipped beeswax luminaries, gift boxes, and other specialty items.

The mother-daughter duo is dedicated to educating the public about pollinators, the importance of sustainable beekeeping, and the remarkable behaviors of these essential insects.

The business creates all of its products locally in Bucks County, where the regional flora influences the flavor of the honey.

Their products are available for purchase online and can be found at Bori Collective in the Dublin Town Center.

“Our honey is harvested in small batches throughout the season, each reflecting the changing blooms of Bucks County,” said Zebrowski-Beck. “We bottle it in specialty glass—historic Muth jars—the first ever used for honey. These bottles honor the tradition and craftsmanship of early beekeepers while showcasing the natural beauty of the honey inside.”
