Looking for a place to get a fresh turkey for this Thanksgiving? There are plenty of great farms, butchers and markets to check out in the Philly region, including two in Bucks County, writes Earl Hopkins for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Bolton’s Farm Market in Silverdale is the perfect spot to gather all your Thanksgiving food needs. Whether you’re looking for sides, pies or the main poultry dish, this farm has it all.
Turkeys from Bolton’s typically weigh 10 to 40 pounds and spend their entire lives on the farm. They’re priced at $4.89 per pound.
The farm is open from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday to Friday and on Saturdays from 9 AM to 4 PM.
Buckingham’s None Such Farm is another great spot to grab your turkey this year. This farm has been run by the family for three generations, and has turkeys from Lititz’s Sensenig Turkey Farm.
Whole birds can be preordered in person, by phone or online for $4.59 per pound. Turkeys range in size from 10 to 26 pounds. Turkey breasts are also available.
Sage stuffing, specialty pies and mashed yams can also be purchased to complete your Thanksgiving meal.
None Such Farm is open from 10 AM to 6 PM from Wednesday to Saturday.
