A young family in Malvern have transformed their dream home using a bright and playful palette that mirrors their lifestyle, writes Eileen Smith Dallabrida for the Main Line Today.
When they first found their new house, it felt like a dream come true, but the interiors were dark and in need of transformation. Instead, the couple wanted cheerful sophistication for themselves, their two kids, and two newly adopted kittens, and they achieved it with help from interior designer Liz Walton.
“They loved their home, but it wasn’t telling their story,” she said. “Our goal was to infuse energy and sophistication while keeping it timeless and family-friendly.”
The renovation’s defining element is a joyful color scheme. Anchored in Kelly greens, rich blues, and sunny yellows, the palette combines bold expression with balance and refinement.
Playful patterns, unexpected details, and layered textures bring warmth and depth, while coffered ceilings, hardwood floors, and custom cabinetry provide timeless style, complemented by whimsical touches like a pink powder room faucet.
The final result transforms once-muted spaces into vibrant areas full of personality, telling a rich story of the owners’ lives and character.
