Bike Works in Newtown to Close Storefront. New Mobile Service Van to Come

The independent bike shop, Bike Works, is closing its Newtown location on Dec. 15. A new mobile services van will be launched this winter.

Bike Works, an independent bike sales and service business, recently announced that it will be closing its Newtown storefront on Dec. 15, writes Jeff Werner for Patch

While the storefront may be closing, the business plans to launch a new mobile service van, bringing its services across the county. The van will offer tune-ups, select products and expert bike repairs.

The van is expected to hit the roads this winter, providing schedulable home appointments.

“I’ve been on the ground floor of each location we have opened since 2011,” said Dan Turner, Bike Works Newtown’s manager. “I’m so proud of the shop we built on Sycamore Street and for the relationships we’ve built here in Newtown. We’re excited about the new opportunities the mobile unit will bring, allowing us to better serve the cycling community where they ride.”

The Doylestown location will continue to operate as normal, offering its usual services.

“Our shop in Newtown has been a great success and introduced us to many new friends,” said Fran Taloricco, the founding partner at Bike Works. “We look forward to serving our community for many years through our Doylestown store and mobile service unit.”
