Doylestown Officials Unveil New Community Center in Central Park

Doylestown Township officials recently celebrated the grand opening of their new community center.

On Sunday, Doylestown Township officials celebrated the grand opening of a new community center, marking an exciting new chapter for Central Park, writes Ed Doyle for TAPinto Doylestown.

Located next to the township’s headquarters on Wells Road, the 18,000-square-foot building highlights the township’s upgrades to Central Park.

The facility includes an indoor gym that can be partitioned into smaller sections and a sizable community room that is divisible into three smaller rooms for events. Another smaller room features garage doors offering a view of the park.

The township allocated around $13 million for the Central Park upgrades, which will also include new courts for tennis, pickleball, basketball and bocce ball. Additionally, indoor bathrooms will be constructed near Kids Castle.

After nearly a decade in planning, the community center’s opening on Sunday brought festivities filled with pride and a sense of achievement at the project’s completion.

“We now have an indoor space which is the piece that’s been missing for a long time,” said Jennifer Herring, Chairman of Doylestown Township’s Board of Supervisors. “I can picture having parties and events and classes here. The space is going to get used.”
