Laundry Associate
Freedom Village is currently hiring a part-time laundry associate for every weekend from 2 PM to 11 PM and Wednesday from 8 AM to 2 PM.
The Laundry Associate is responsible for carrying out the normal activities of the laundry, including washing, ironing, folding, sorting, etc. of clothing and linens.
Responsibilities with this position include:
- Collects, cleans, and redistributes the Community laundry.
- Ensures that all Health Center laundry is properly sorted, washed, and dried according to State and Federal regulations.
- Ensures that the laundry is maintained in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
- Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition.
- Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by the supervisor.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
Requirements for This Position
- Possess the ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively.
- Commercial laundry experience is desirable, but not required.
- Ability to process 50-100 pounds of laundry at a time.
- Can generate a warm, friendly, and caring manner on first impression.
- Can communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and visitors.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Can pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Dietary Associate
Freedom Village is searching for Full and Part-time servers/dietary aides. They offer part-time evening hours for aides to assist during the dinner meal in both independent living, skilled nursing, and personal care. There are also full-time server positions available that would work primarily during the day shift in the skilled nursing and personal care departments.
Starting salary is $13.25/hour, though actual salary may fall outside of the posted salary range as it is dependent on skills and experience.
Freedom Village offers a scholarship fund through its resident council; in the past, residents raised over $60,000 distributed to rising college freshman and business professionals looking to further their education at Freedom Village at Brandywine.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Dietary Aide:
- Always exemplify Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
- Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance, and presentation standards always.
- Exhibit dining room appearance and presentation standards always.
- Exhibit serving standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Set tables and maintain workstations in proper order. Take orders, provide service, and provide requested items both graciously and courteously. Answer pertinent questions about menu items.
- Clear dishes from tables during and after meal service, assist with dish washing, and reset tables.
- Serve customers using proper serving etiquette and promote an inviting dining atmosphere.
- Knowledge of diets provided and served correctly per Policy and Procedure.
- Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, createing a positive marketing environment.
Here are a few of the qualifications required:
- 16 years of age.
- Experience in food service work preferred.
- Experience in working with senior living / Healthcare preferred.
- Must be available on weekdays and weekends, 6:30 AM- 3:00 PM.

Licensed Practical Nurse
Freedom Village at Brandywine is looking to hire 1 part-time LPN for its skilled nursing facility, working every other weekend 7 AM to 3 PM. Shift differential is available for all employees who work the evening and night shifts during the week and all shifts on the weekend. The starting range for this position is $30/hour or more, based on experience.
This position provides direct nursing care to residents and delegates and supervises the care provided by our Certified Nursing Assistants.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of an LPN:
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL), family/social activities, and actively promote an independent lifestyle for residents.
- Responsible for the identification of resident medical and behavioral changes and the development and monitoring of care plans and re-assessment of each resident.
- Provide daily reports to the Director of Health Services concerning community conditions, personnel performance, resident conditions, and needs for nursing supplies.
- Provide nursing care according to the physician’s orders and in conformance with recognized nursing practice, established standards, and administrative policies.
- Ensure preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative services to residents and assist in the coordination of nursing care with care rendered by other disciplines.

- Current nursing license that is valid in the state worked.
- Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community.
