There are several Delaware County ZIP Codes where wealth spends some time, according to a Philadelphia Business Journal ranking of the region’s wealthiest ZIP Codes.
Two Delaware County ZIP Codes cracked the top 20, writes Todd Romero for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Havertown, in ZIP Code 19083, ranked 14th, with a per capita income of $56,576. A typical home value there is $522,078. The poverty rate is 4.6 percent.
Ardmore, Delaware County, in ZIP Code 19003, ranked 16th.. It has a per capita income of $69,626. A typical home value there is $522,483. The poverty rate is 6 percent.
Other Delaware County ZIP Code in the top 50 rankings include 19070 (Morton), at 23rd, 19026 (Drexel Hill) at 24th, 19074 (Norwood) at 28th, 19041 (Haverford) at 29th, 19076 (Prospect Park) at 33rd, 19033 (Folsom) at 35th, 19078 (Ridley Park) at 41st, 19081 (Swarthmore) at 42nd, 19015 (Brookhaven) at 43rd, 19064 (Springfield) at 45th, 19083 (Wallingford ) at 48th, and 19008 (Broomall) at 50.
The analysis shows that new pockets of affluence are being created in the suburbs because of shifting migration patterns and money movement is generating development, pushing up housing prices, and reshaping neighborhoods.
