Bristol Police Officer Drums with Nephew at Special Baseball Game Performance

Officer Tyler Aspell drummed with his nephew during a performance by Drummers with Attitude at a Trenton baseball game.

A Bristol police officer had the opportunity to drum along with his nephew at a baseball game performance in Trenton, reports Matteo Iadonisi for 6abc

Growing up, Officer Tyler Aspell was a member of Drummers with Attitude, a group that regularly meets at Harry S. Truman High School. The group has spent the past two decades uniting young performers.

“I was still involved sporadically throughout high school, and my senior year of high school, I enlisted in the National Guard,” Aspell said. “After I got out of the army, I was in the Philadelphia Police Department.”

The Bristol Township Police Department hired him in February 2021.

Aspell’s nephew, Riley Ransome, is now a member of the same Levittown drumming group. Drummers with Attitude reached out to Aspell and invited him to join them at the upcoming Trenton Thunder baseball game.

“I performed at the Trenton Thunder game in 2009, and it’s a full circle moment to be able to play with Riley again at the Trenton Thunder game now that he’s involved,” he said.

On July 4, Aspell accompanied Riley and the other members of the group on the field to perform.

Ransome noted how wonderful it’s been to perform alongside his uncle and bond with him over the experience.
