Newtown Ice House is the perfect spot to enjoy some tasty and refreshing water ice guaranteed to cool you down and satisfy your sweet tooth, reports Jennaphr Frederick for Fox 29.
The owners, Jackie and Todd McGonigal, have been operating out of Newtown since 2023. The couple runs another location in Yardley.
The Ice House specializes in gourmet water ice, using real fruit and fresh ingredients to create delicious and refreshing flavors.
Some of their most popular flavors are their banana cream pie water ice, made with pureed bananas and soft serve, and cherry bordeaux, a cherry emulsion with fresh black cherries mixed in.
Their tiger’s blood is another popular flavor, which includes fresh strawberries, coconut and watermelon.
The orange creamsicle gelati, made with real orange juice and custard, is another frequently bought item on the menu. Those looking for a vegan option can try their Dole Whip, which is allergy-friendly.
“We’re gourmet, so we do that for our recipes. If you go somewhere else, you might not get that, but here at the Ice House, we try to put as much real fruit inside our recipes as possible,” Jackie said.
They currently have around 175 recipes and a variety of flavors to choose from daily.
