A charming secluded mid-century modern home, surrounded by mature trees and plantings, is now on the market in Quakertown for $655,000, writes Paul Jablow for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Married couple Mary Crockett and Joe Tomkiewicz purchased the home in 2017, as they were wanting to move from their Furlong residence.
“It was in complete disarray,” said Crockett. “But we knew we wanted it.”
Now that they have to relocate due to work, they are looking for the new owner of the 2,881-square-foot house.
The 1957 home features exposed Douglas fir beams and reclaimed brick walls, along with wood paneling and cork and Mercer Tile floors.
The entry and living room open to a brick hearth. A wall of windows frames a view of the flagstone patio and gardens, where a stone-edged pond features a bubbling fountain.
The home features built-ins throughout, including a wet bar in the dining area. The eat-in kitchen offers high ceilings, Portzer cabinetry and a built-in grill. A family room is home to the second fireplace.
The tranquil primary suite offers a large sitting area and ample closet space. Meanwhile, the separate wing with two bedrooms and a full bathroom is ideal for guests.
