State Rep. Joe Hogan recently announced that Bucks County was awarded $2.34 million in housing grants through the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), writes staff at the Lower Bucks Times.
The funds will be allocated to home repair and support projects throughout the county.
This grant will support organizations like Bucks County Habitat for Humanity and the Bucks County Housing Services Department.
The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Bucks County will also benefit from the funding.
“This is great news for the people of Bucks County,” said Hogan. “Millions of dollars will now be invested in our communities to help find housing or make critical repairs. More people in Bucks will now be able to reach their dream of homeownership.”
The Pennsylvania Housing Affordability and Rehabilitation Enhancement (PHARE) program approved the funding for the county.
Two sources, Marcellus Shale Impact Fees and Realty Transfer Taxes, supplied the money for the grant.
