Bensalem Preparatory School Receives $2.1M Gift from Howley Foundation

Holy Ghost Preparatory School has received a gift from the Howley Foundation to fund scholarships for four students per grade each year for the next 10 years.

Holy Ghost Preparatory School in Bensalem has received a record-setting gift from the Howley Foundation, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The $2.1 million donation will fund scholarships for four students per grade each year for the next 10 years.

The Howley Foundation was founded more than two decades ago by Nick and Lorie Howley and is now being led by their daughter Meg.

The foundation focuses primarily on Cleveland and Philadelphia, where it supported approximately 1,200 high school students last year. In 2024 alone, it gifted tens of millions of dollars to schools in the Philadelphia area.

The Holy Ghost Prep scholarship program, supported by the latest Howley gift, will start with this fall’s freshman class. Students will be chosen based on “academic achievement and their potential to serve as leaders while attending Holy Ghost Prep,” the school stated in a release.

The Bucks County school dates back to 1897, when it was originally founded as Holy Ghost Apostolic College. At the start of the 2024-25 school year, it enrolled 440 students.
