The Speckled Egg Café is back after a six-month hiatus, and eager customers are ready to show their appreciation, writes Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times.
The popular foodie destination began humbly at Golden Nugget Antique Flea Market in Amwell, New Jersey, four years ago, then moved to Rice’s in New Hope in 2022. Now it has its own stand-alone location over the Delaware River, in the former Manon building in Lambertville.
The eatery held a soft opening this week, with a steady stream of customers lining up outside.
“The fact that we have a real space with a beautiful kitchen and a lovely history, it’s sort of a pinch me moment,” said Tony Artur, co-owner of The Speckled Egg Cafe. “We wouldn’t be in this space if it wasn’t for the people who have come to love us and what we do.”
The cafe will offer its usual eclectic breakfast and lunch fare at the new location, including local favorites such as the veggie egg and cheese sandwich, breakfast broth, and banh mi hot dog.
