Bucks County Offers Variety of Wedding Venues Welcoming LGBTQ+ Couples

Lambertville and New Hope feature several wedding venues welcoming LGBTQ+ couples.

LGBTQ+ couples looking to tie the knot can feel at home in Bucks County, which offers many welcoming wedding venues, writes Jim Donovan for CBS News Philadelphia.

New Hope and Lambertville have long been recognized as safe havens for the LGBTQ+ community for their inclusive attitudes.

“We call it the bubble, and we always say we don’t leave it because it is such a safe space,” said Melissa Patterson, a longtime resident who married her wife in the area. “The community that you see welcomes you, accepts you.”

The venues that are go-to places for LGBTQ+ couples include the River House at O’Dette’s and Stella of New Hope. There is also the 240-year-old HollyHedge Estate, where Andrew and Jason Chun exchanged their vows.

“Going to New Hope and Lambertville always had a special piece of my heart,” said Andrew Chun. “It’s because of how open and accepting the culture is here.”

The couple was looking for a warm, romantic, and intimate venue with a gay-friendly reputation, and the estate fit the bill perfectly.

Chun noted that HollyHedge often collaborates with New Hope Celebrates for events. Additionally, he said they had seen other couples get married there as well.
