Cardiology Consultants of Philadelphia has partnered with Penn Medicine and other providers to open an ambulatory surgery center in King of Prussia, writes Harold Brubaker for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The $10 million facility that has three operating rooms and one procedure room will open late this year and offer same-day, nonemergency treatments. The center will feature 12 bays for patients both before and after surgery. The procedures will be performed by doctors and technicians from Cardiology Consultants, the largest independent cardiology group in the region.
The facility will operate weekdays, providing cardiac catheterizations and diagnostic services for arrhythmias.
The move follows Cardiology Consultants’ affiliation with Cardiovascular Logistics, a Louisiana-based national practice.
The facility will be managed by SCA Health, an Alabama company with more than 300 ambulatory surgery centers across 35 states.
“This collaboration represents a major step forward in delivering convenient, cost-effective care while maintaining the highest standards in safety and clinical excellence,” said Mark Victor, a cardiologist and chief executive officer of Cardiology Consultants.
Penn noted that its involvement in the project is part of an effort to provide its patients with convenient access closer to home.
