The Quarter Hoarders, a group of treasure hunters, were searching for colonial-era relics when they made an unexpected discovery: a Council Rock High School class ring lost nearly 70 years ago, reports Christie Ileto for 6abc.
“We mainly look for colonial stuff,” said Lynn Oppenheimer, of the Quarter Hoarders. “You know, stuff that’s two, three-hundred years old.”
The Quarter Hoarders ask owners of colonial homes and farms to search their properties for hidden treasures.
Most recently, they uncovered a class ring from 1958 on a Bucks County farm. It turns out that the ring actually belonged to Nancy Curtis, who never mentioned losing it to her daughter, Michelle.
“I didn’t know that she lost it,” said Michelle.
The ring has managed to survive all of the elements over nearly 70 years of being buried at the farm.
“We actually have the ring, and it’s in pristine condition,” added Michelle.
The find has major sentimental value to 86-year-old Nancy, who now lives in Florida. After hearing the news, she joked that it took decades of praying to St. Anthony to find the ring.
