Two of the Philadelphia Eagles cheerleaders cheering on the Birds in Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs hail from Bucks County, writes Dino Ciliberti for the Patch.
Squad captain Ashley Hillis of Newtown has cheered for three years. A holder of a bachelor’s degree in professional studies with minors in dance and nutrition from West Chester University, she works as a marketing director for a public adjustment agency.
Hillis volunteers at a local community center, tutoring and teaching dance to underprivileged students.
She made an appearance in The Nutcracker with the Pennsylvania Ballet during the holidays.
“It was incredibly special to me because I used to perform in that show when I was younger, making it a full-circle moment to see my two worlds combine,” she said.
Kiki McCormick of Jamison, who graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in Dance, is currently in her debut year as an Eagles cheerleader.
“I have worked at a boutique for two consecutive years which has allowed me to discover my interest in exploring new styles and fashion, as well as helping others to feel confident and empowered in their skin,” she said.
