The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania has claimed the top spot in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report graduate business school rankings, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
This year, the Wharton School holds the top spot outright, after having to share it with Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business last year. It marks the second consecutive year and the fourth time in the last six years that Penn has at least shared the top position in the graduate business school rankings.
The 144-year-old Wharton School, the nation’s oldest business school, admitted 20 percent of applicants in its most recent graduate admissions cycle, enrolling 866 students. Annual tuition and fees total around $90,000.
Penn programs also ranked first nationwide in several specialties, including finance, real estate, and its executive MBA program, which costs more than $230,000.
Another Philadelphia school also made a significant improvement in its ranking.
La Salle University jumped from unranked last year to No. 100.
Meanwhile, Drexel University dropped eight spots, from No. 102 last year to No. 110.
Temple University, however, went unranked for the second consecutive year.
