New LED Lights on New Hope-Lambertville Bridge Debut

LED architectural lights have been installed on the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge illuminating night travel over the Delaware River.

Earlier this week, the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge debuted its newly installed LED architectural lights, transforming the structure into a vibrant spectacle on the Delaware River, writes Aziza Shuler and Jon Claudio for CBS News Philadelphia.

Tuesday was much more than a light show – it was a celebration of the bridge connecting two charming small towns, New Hope and Lambertville, New Jersey. With colors reflecting off the water, a spirited procession, led by the South Philadelphia String Band, made its way across the bridge.

Mayors and state officials from both towns expressed gratitude to residents for their patience during the extensive bridge renovation that started in January 2024.

“We are very, very fortunate the progress of the renovation was pretty much as scheduled,” said Laurence Keller, mayor of New Hope Borough.

Fully repaired and freshly painted, the bridge officially reopened to both vehicles and pedestrians in February.

“How essential these structures are for interstate commerce and the free flow of goods,” said Fran O’Connor, commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation. “They bring Jersey blueberries, peaches, and Taylor Ham or Pork Roll into Pennsylvania. And Hershey bars and Eagles fans into New Jersey.”
