Gather Place Museum Continues the Celebration with the Generational Voices™ Community Launch

Gather Place Museum is set to host the Generational Voices™ Community Launch event at the museum on Saturday, April 19 from 2-4 PM.

After a successful kickoff event for America 250, in conjunction with Experience Yardley, Gather Place Museum is set to keep the momentum going.

On Saturday, April 19, Gather Place Museum will host Generational Voices™ Community Launch.

This free public event will serve as a showcase of oral histories, historic walking tours, and the debut of a compelling docuseries that honors the African American and Quaker legacies of Yardley and Bucks County.

“As a third-generation Yardley resident, it’s an incredible honor to share this first look at the Generational Voices™ project—an initiative I lovingly designed and developed over the past year with support from the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Preserving Black Churches grant,” said Shirley Lee Corsey, Executive Director, Gather Place Museum.

Featured sites include the historic AME Church of Yardley (est. 1877) and The Old Library by Lake Afton (est. 1878), among others.

Community members are invited to share their own family stories and connect with the growing tapestry of local history being preserved and celebrated by Gather Place.

“This launch is not just a presentation—it’s an invitation. An invitation for my community, family, friends, and neighbors across Yardley and Bucks County to see themselves in history, to add their voices, and to help us shape this living legacy together,” Lee Corsey added. “Local history matters—and it’s ours to preserve, honor, and pass on.”

The Generational Voices™ Community Launch event is set for April 19, 2025, from 2-4 PM at Gather Place Museum.
