Brixmor Property Group recently unveiled sketch plans for redevelopment of the former Regal Cinema site at Barn Plaza in Doylestown, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
Brixmor plans to demolish the theater and surrounding silos, replacing them with three multi-tenant mixed-use buildings. The new structures will feature around 50,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space.
Regal closed the theater in the Route 611 shopping center in early 2023, after declaring bankruptcy, leaving Barn Plaza without an important anchor.
“We’re going to be looking to come in very soon for site plan approval,” said William Greimel, vice president of redevelopment for Brixmor. “We’re very excited about it and we think it’s really going to solidify the property and make it sustainable.”
He added that he cannot yet share who will be the new tenants, “but we have a great lineup that all go along with Whole Foods.”
The building nearest the existing shopping center will house a major bar and grill along and popular burger shop. The middle building will host several tenants complementing the Whole Foods Market, while the third will feature a drive-through coffee shop and two retail stores.
