Bucks County’s Ellie Mooney is among the cast members in the Walnut Street Theatre’s production of Hay Fever, as the theater celebrates the centennial of Noël Coward’s iconic comedy, writes Michael Elkin for the Bucks County Herald.
Mooney, who grew up in Warminster before later moving to Doylestown, delivers a spot-on portrayal of Jackie, a disruptor among the clueless guests at a country home gathering, where she feels completely out of place in the lavish world of high society. Her appearance creates chaos among the partygoers and elicits laughter from the audience.
“This is not Jackie’s world,” said Mooney. “She’s a little kookie…To call her dim would be a step up.”
The show opens on Wednesday, February 19 and will run through Sunday, March 9.
Mooney fell in love with theater in sixth grade, and has never looked back since.
As her career has grown and she ended up in New York, she always remained connected to the Bucks County area and helping her community there.
