Young Perkasie Baker Competes on Food Network’s ‘Kids Baking Championship: Amazing Animals’

Carter Siporin, the young Perkasie baker behind Carter's Confections, is one of the contestants looking to wow judges on Food Network's Kids Baking Championship: Amazing Animals.

Carter Siporin, an 11-year-old Perkasie baker, is hoping to wow the judges with his delicious desserts on Food Network’s Kids Baking Championship: Amazing Animals, writes Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times.

“I’ve been a fan of this show forever,” said Carter, who gained many local fans with Carter’s Confections, his custom dessert business. “I’ve seen every single episode at least five times.”

Carter made his debut on the show last Monday, January 6, in the season premiere. Throughout the show’s 13th season, he will compete with 11 other young bakers from across the nation in the hopes of winning $25,000, a feature in Food Network Magazine, and the coveted title of Kids Baking Champion.

In the first episode, contestants were challenged to bake a textured animal tart base, then decorate it with scales, feathers, fur, or fins.

While he hasn’t made many tarts, the Perkasie native said he was really excited for the opportunity to create fun flavor combinations.

His iguana-inspired kiwi citrus tart proved him worthy of moving on.

New episodes of the show air every Monday at 8 PM.
