Downingtown West graduate and Ohio State quarterback Will Howard is returning to Pennsylvania this weekend for a game against Penn State, with something to prove, writes Jeff Neiburg for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Howard has always dreamed of attending Penn State, his father Bob’s alma mater. However, while he wanted the Nittany Lions, they did not want to add him to the team.
When asked about the coming game that will see No. 3 Penn State clash with No. 4 Ohio State, Howard did not mince any words about his former preferred school.
“I’m stoked,” he said. “I cannot wait. It’s going to be a homecoming for me. I grew up a Penn State fan. I wanted to go there my whole life. They didn’t think I was good enough, but I guess we’ll see next week if I was.”
But regardless of how the game turns out, Howard has big plans for the future.
“My goals, ultimately, are to make it to the NFL and to be a starting quarterback in the NFL,” he said.
